Altamont School is a college preparatory school for grades 5-12 mixed - and the atmosphere that evokes pride and loyalty of students, parents, teachers and staff. Altamont School is located at the top of Red Mountain in a secluded residential area, five minutes from downtown Birmingham. The 28-acre main campus includes six tennis courts, a track and a football field. A second campus football, softball and baseball fields and a gymnasium. The main campus of the school has 47 classrooms, two wings of science, a garden of study, a fine arts center, a library of over 17,000 volumes, an art gallery, a student center, and special rooms for choir, art, orchestra and dance . An audio-visual editing and production studio has been recently added as a result of Fine Arts. Two gyms offer volleyball, basketball, tennis and fitness. The factory is owned by school estimated at over $ 12,000,000. Altamont school was established in 1975 as a merger of Brooke Hill School, a college preparatory school for girls founded in 1940, and the University of Birmingham School, founded in 1922.

The Altamont School is dedicated to equipping children with the skills needed to master a life-long learners and active members of society.

Altamont is a good choice for students who excel in their current school, but wants a greater breadth and challenge in all areas of school life. Altamont is a small family business - approximately 400 pupils of 5-12 years in the socio-economic, ethnic and religious. Most students live in Birmingham and the surrounding communities.
